Wednesday Night Summer Nights
July 8, 2008
Summer Nights #1 of 4 begins tomorrow night (Wednesday) at 6:00. We'll be
finished by 8:00. Come join us for a fun filled whole-family time
together. Our summer youth intern Conor Mooney will share his testimony
at the meeting following the cookout. Week #2 Carl Schnute will be sharing
his recent story about his gunshot wound, the recuperation, and what he
believes God has been doing in his life in the midst of all of this.
See you there - don't forget to bring a side dish!
I heard a spot on the radio recently that said when adults were asked what their fondest memories of their childhood were they invariably mentioned
- Family vacations
- Time spent together out doors
- Mealtimes together
Well, do we have a plan for you! A way to meet all three criteria without having to drive anywhere or make hotel reservations. (We’re going to stretch the definition of vacation just a little and call this a weekly mini-vacation.)
“Summer Nights” is back by popular demand!
Last year this was a grand experiment, although I was fairly confident it would be well received. This year, people are looking forward to this new Swift Creek tradition with anticipation.
Some basics:
What is it? A church-wide cookout on Wednesday evenings followed by a high energy program for the whole
family in the worship room filled with music, skits, laughter and a bit of inspiration. It’s all very informal.
What are the dates? Wednesday nights in July – the 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th
What is the schedule? 6:00 – 7:00 dinner, program starts at 7:00 sharp, over by 8:00.
What do I bring? A side dish for dinner. We’ll cook the hotdogs and hamburgers and provide the drinks if
you’ll chip in $2 for adults and $1 each for kids.
Mom’s get a break on Wednesday evenings, kids love the free wheeling fun, everyone enjoys hearing a personal story from one of our own, and the whole church grows closer together. A win to the 4th!
See you there!
