Haiti Hygiene Kits
Thanks to a group of very energized volunteers the effort to assemble Hygiene kits for Haiti has really taken off. If you would like to participate, several ways are listed below:
Swift Creek Presbyterian Church is responding to the call for hygiene kits for victims of Haiti’s earthquake. You can help by:
  1. Donating items for hygiene kits
  2. Donating assembled hygiene kits
  3. Donating money to purchase additional kit supplies or to pay for shipping
To assemble a Hygiene Kit, we will need:

  • One hand towel approximately 16” x 28”(no fingertip or bath towels)
  • One washcloth
  • One wide-tooth comb
  • One nail clipper (no metal files or emery boards)
  • One bar of soap (bath size in wrapper)
  • One toothbrush (in original packaging)
  • Six Band-Aids
  • One-gallon plastic bag

*Note that all of these items are available at DollarTree, some in multi-packs

Please do not add toothpaste to the Hygiene Kit. Toothpaste that has an extended expiration date will be added to Hygiene Kit shipments just prior to shipment. Seal all items in a one-gallon plastic bag with a zipper closure. Church World Service is very specific about these items so NO other items should be donated.

The hygiene kits will be shipped to Church World Service through the Presbytery of the James. Donations will be accepted through Sunday, February 7. Put your kit or money donations in the box in the church commons OR give your donations to Stacey Davis, Sheri DeSimone, Kathy Herceg or Kim Owens. Assembly will commence at 3:00 p.m. THIS SUNDAY, February 7. Let us know if you are interested in helping. Questions? Contact Kim Owens.
