| Touch Point students remain dedicated to the task of gaining the release of persons from bonded slavery for $500 and rescuing others from
forced prostitution for $1,000.
2009 funraising events include saving your change to loosen chains, purchasing memorial bricks for our patio, and sponsoring our youth for work day participation at your home or business. All proceeds go toward our 2009 goal of $6,000 sponsorship for IJM's work of releasing bonded slaves and forced prostitution.
1) Loose Change to Loosen Chains
We will do this here at Swift Creek and also give you the opportunity to do something in your school. IJM offers an easy way to get your friends involved who don’t even come to youth group. There is more to come on this idea.
2) Spaghetti Luncheon
Our Youth held a Spaghetti Luncheon after Church on February 14
and Everyone was Invited!
Here's a quick and encouraging follow up report: SCPC people remain very generous even in the midst of difficult times. Approximately $1,200 was given for IJM at our youth sponsored spaghetti lunch after church. Way to go! BTW weren't those servers the best and cutest things ever?! They really hustled.
3) Brick Pavers
If you guys see the brick sidewalk when you come into church you can get an idea of what this fundraiser does. You can buy a brick and get it set into the sidewalk…anyone in the community can do this. All the money raised will go towards IJM
4) Work Projects
Here is the best way you can get involved. Between February 15 and March 15 we will be doing a number of work projects to help raise money for the IJM. I will fill you in on some sweet ways to get support for your work as well as some opportunities in the community to help those who live right up the road who are in need.
Lets set our goal at $6000. We did so well last year. I feel like raising our goal from last year by $1000 is a good place to start. If we get more, AWESOME!
