International Justice Mission
Over the past few years our students have reached out in amazing ways to help free youth around the world from forced prostitution and modern day slavery. Students here have been a part of raising over $20,000 to support the efforts of IJM
We ask that students and adults continue to support all we can in this effort.
The IJM website is www.ijm.org.
Central VA Food Bank
Our youth have also worked hard to fight hunger locally. After realizing that 12-15,000 people in Central VA go without food each day, our students, with the help of our congregation, provided 8,000 meals for those in need here in our own community.
Please continue to support the efforts of the Food Bank |
Local Mission Project: Miss Moores

Last Saturday each month.
8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Bring $$$ for lunch
Meet at the church at 8:30 a.m. and return to the church after lunch. Parents are welcome to join us.
Usually on the last Saturday of each month our youth gather at the church at 8:30 am and carpool up to Miss Moore's
home. Miss Amanda Moore is an elderly lady living in the Church Hill area of Richmond near I-64 and
360. She was a legal secretary in Richmond who took care of her aging parents. Miss Moore never
married and has no relatives close by.
Miss Moore suffered a stroke, leaving her partially disabled. On good days she can get around her
house with a cane or walker, but requires a wheelchair to go any distance. Miss Moore has a faithful and
loving companioin in her Irish Setter, Ben. Unfortunately caring for Ben is sometimes beyond her ability.
Each month, Swift Creek Youth students travel to Miss Moore's home to help her and Ben in any way they can.
The house is cleaned and contingencies set up for when Miss Moore cannot let Ben out to do his business. Ben
is bathed and enjoys some play time with the students. When weather allows (or demands as in the Spring
and Fall) Miss Moore's yard is cleaned up, cut, trimmed, edged and whatever is needed.
Our upcoming dates for Miss Moore's are
