SCPC Students is
Wild & Free:
I don’t think we need a lot of explanation to talk about how wild students can be! But what is it that makes SCPC Students Wild & Free?
There is a good quote from C.S. Lewis where, in his novels, the main characters are trying to figure out if Aslan (God) is good or safe for them. The other creatures in the kingdom reply “Who said anything about safe? Of course he’s not safe. But he is good, and He is King.”
The God we love and serve is a wild God; he called us to follow him as we radically change the culture around us. Jesus showed that wild heart by coming to earth, shaking the culture, and setting us free from sin, death, and an eternity apart from the only thing that will complete us.
Here at SCPC. we walk alongside Students as we all find out what it really means to engage in true living. That’s dangerous, but it’s totally worth it.
We are constantly moving- moving through time, through life, and through grades- and we acknowledge that this ministry isn’t the end for Students. At some point, they will move on, but while they are here, we want them to be a part of something that strengthens their faith for the Journey ahead.
God knows the heart of every one of his Creations; we may be able to hide or cover up the things we don’t like or don’t want to wrestle with, but nothing is hidden from God. But the joy of that truth is God meet us right where we are.
Here at SCPC Students, we encourage everyone to be Authentic and Honest with who they are and what they believe about God. we are constantly growing in our faith through every season; however a posture of Honesty can be a powerful catalyst for growth.
Transformed and Transforming:
If we had the power to fix ourselves, it would have worked by now…
We believe we have been rescued: saved and redeemed solely by the grace of God through our Lord Jesus Christ. God, through his Son, has transformed us; and now, through the Holy Spirit, is continuing to transform us.
We also believe a part of this transformation is not just for us; as we grow in relationship with God, we join with him in the redemption of the World. Students don’t have to wait until they are older to make an impact; they can change their culture now, with God. Here we encourage transformation in our lives and the lives of those around us.
